When to Visit: May-September marks the high season, with warm temperatures and perfect dry heat.

Special paperwork: A Tourist eVisa is required for entry. It costs $20 and you can apply up to 3 months in advance. You can obtain an e-visa here.
Getting around: We used public transportation or taxis in Istanbul. For Cappadocia, SRM Travel arranged all transportation to/from airports, and when visiting sites.
Local history: Agriculture, and consequently the first civilizations, first appeared in Turkey 11,000 years ago
Fun fact: Santa Claus is Turkish (he may live in the North Pole now, but St. Nicholas was born in Patara)
