When to visit: Dec-March  is the high season for skiing and winter activities.  Whistler is also a good place to visit June-August, with better hotel deals given its off season.

Getting around: You can rent a car or take a shuttle from the airport. In town, here are some options for public/private transport. Note: Many hotels offer their own shuttle to/from downtown.Language: English

Nearest airport: Vancouver International Airport (~2 hours away)

Local history: At the beginning of snow season, there is a pagan style party that worships the god of snow. People celebrate in bars and clubs and sacrifice skis to a bonfire.

Fun fact: The most commonly heard foreign accent is: Australian! There are so many visitors from down-under, that the city has been nicknamed “Whistralia.”
